CUSTOM DESIGNING WITH SHEL FINE JEWELRY

BESPOKE

At SHEL FINE JEWELRY, we create bespoke, one-of-a-kind pieces for our customers. In order to begin the process of crafting your custom design, we kindly request a non-refundable deposit of $1,500. This deposit serves as a commitment towards your project and will be applied towards the final balance.

DELIVERABLES

At SHEL FINE JEWELRY, we offer a comprehensive service that includes several key deliverables as part of the cost of your custom piece. Here is what you can expect:

  1. Initial consultation: You will have the opportunity to meet with SHEL either in person for a 60-minute session or remotely for a cumulative of time of 60 minutes. This consultation allows us to understand your vision and preferences.

  2. Design mock-up: Based on the information gathered during the consultation, our team will create a design mock-up that captures the essence of your piece.

  3. One round of modifications: After reviewing the design mock-up, you will have the opportunity to provide feedback and request any necessary modifications. We will make these changes before proceeding to the production phase.

  4. Confirmation of the design: To ensure we are on the same page, we will send you a CAD drawing via email explicitly confirming the final design. We kindly request that you provide written approval of the design.

Once we have received your written confirmation and approval of the design, we will proceed with the production of your custom piece. It is important to note that any changes requested beyond this point will require a change order and will result in additional design fees. Our goal is to ensure your complete satisfaction and deliver exceptional quality.

DISCLAIMER FOR HEIRLOOM PROJECTS

When collaborating with heirloom materials, SHEL FINE JEWELRY recognizes the potential risks involved. It is important to note that while we take all necessary precautions, we are unable to assume liability for any damage that may occur to stones or settings, such as chipping, breaking, bending, or other forms of damage.

It is imperative for our valued clients to ensure they possess adequate insurance coverage. We highly recommend including custom fine jewelry in a homeowners, renters, or individual policy. This will afford protection against potential risks such as loss, damage, or theft of jewelry.

Phase 3: Final 50% balance due prior to jewelry shipment or pick-up.

Once a bespoke project is completed, it is the client's responsibility to settle the outstanding/final balance within 14 business days.

JEWELRY CARE

All SHEL is handmade in Los Angeles and Encinitas California by a team of artisan jewelers that we’ve been working with for two decades.  Our jewelry is produced one piece at a time, to the highest quality standards.

For inquiries on repairing or refurbishing your items, please contact our repairs team at shel@shelrising.com

SAFE KEEPING

We recommend that you keep your Fine Jewelry in a closed dry area, preferably in one of your Mrs. Boxes that your jewelry comes with.  Any jewelry should not be left in direct sunlight, or placed on hard surfaces.

CLEANING YOUR SHEL

We like to clean our fine jewelry with a mild non-abrasive soap and a soft toothbrush or with a soft cleaning cloth.  Any jewelry with a stone should never be immersed in any home ultrasonic cleaners or cleaning solutions as it could damage stones.

Shel covers any defects of materials and craftsmanship of our jewelry, but it does not cover normal wear and tear, neglect, or accidental damage. Normal wear and tear would be considered scratches or dents in metals and softer stones, flattened/worn prongs, etc.

To keep your jewelry in good condition, we recommend having it inspected every six months to a year.

In the event repairs are needed, it’s the client’s responsibility to ship and insure the jewelry.  SHEL will return jewelry to you insured.

REPAIRS & SIZING

At SHEL, we stand behind the quality of our products. We offer a one-year structural integrity guarantee on all jewelry purchased from us. However, please note that gemstones and diamonds are not covered under this warranty.

To protect your fine jewelry against loss, damage, or theft, we strongly recommend adding it to your homeowners, renters, or individual insurance policy.

In the event that repairs are needed, please reach out to us at shel@shelrising.com. Our team will be happy to assist you by providing shipping labels and instructions.

When it comes to resizing, we understand that it is important to get the perfect fit. We offer one complimentary resizing per ring for our clients, especially for gifts where the receiver is not present for sizing.

For additional resizing, there is a fee associated with the service. It's important to discuss resizing options with our stylists to ensure the integrity of the jewelry material. Please note that certain styles may not be eligible for resizing.

It is essential to keep in mind that resizing or repairing your jewelry at a local jeweler will void the SHEL Fine Jewelry warranty.

When it comes to stone sourcing, we are committed to working only with design quality materials. We carefully select trusted partners globally who align with our high standards in ethics and business practices.

APPRAISALS

SHEL FINE JEWELRY appraises through independent appraisers upon your request for a fee.  Appraisals are complimentary on orders over $5K.
